king of the wii

January 1, 2008

Happy New Year everybody, tonight Beck and I played Wii with our friends Shannon and Kristi and I’ve got to say, I rocked the joint.  I haven’t played a lot yet, and honestly I haven’t played many video games since college, but I think I’m addicted. So I’m thinking that’ll be the next big purchase for the Taylor home.  In Wii world I am 38 according to my fitness score… which is not great, but its better than Shannon’s 73 (sorry man).  Leaving tonight Beck said she would only allow us to get one if we put boundaries on it because she’s worried I’ll be obsessed “like I am with my iPhone.”  Ahhh women, they just don’t get it.

cheating on safari

November 7, 2007

Yes you read that right… “I promise it didn’t mean anything… it was only surfing… and the whole time I was thinking of you Safari.”  Anyway, for the last couple of days I’ve been checking out the new web browser Flock and trying to decide whether or not I’m reading to leave Safari for it.  If you’re not familiar with Flock you should check it out, its a web browser that connects basically all that you’re doing online.  So all of you social networking sites, blogs, rss reader and all that is in one place.  Actually I am blogging right now through the blog editor built into the toolbar, so I don’t have to visit WordPress to blog, which is kinda cool.  I have found a few problems, but this is only version 1.0 so things will only get better.

If you’ve checked it out, let me know what you think…

running leopard

October 29, 2007

I upgraded to Leopard yesterday and I am loving it.  I haven’t had that much time to play around and see everything and already I can say its amazing.  I love when you get something new and you find all the features slowly… I hate it when you get a new gadget and all the features are right there in front of you and there’s no surprise later, the newness wears off quick.  But not Leopard (at least so far), its like everything I do I’m finding new little upgrades or surprises that are just making life better. Anyway, I’m sure later on I’ll post more details about how I’m using all these nifty new features.

tivo – man’s best friend

September 24, 2007

This morning I finally got around to getting my TiVo ready for this fall tv season. It’s probably going to be smoking under the hood for awhile because there are a lot of good shows this year. So here’s my rundown on what I’ve got TiVoing…

First off, mondays are looking great, How I Met Your Mother (which is really funny) and of course Heroes, I wouldn’t miss that for anything. New shows I’m going to try out are K-ville, The Big Bang Theory (only because I love Garden State, and the kid from Garden State is in this show, he was the kid in the armored suit, only one of my favorites parts), and I’m giong to give Journeyman a one night shot at making me a believer… I have little hopes for it. I love CSI, but Miami has gotten so lame, I will probably only watch the premiere to see what this hype about H having a son is all about.

Tuesdays are little slow, the biggest show of the night by far is House. This is going to be an interesting year since everybody walked out on him last season. (dont worry they are all coming back – just not in the same position) The only other show I have TiVoed is a new show called Carpoolers, I’m only giving it a shot because it was created by one of the stars of Kids in the Hall. That’s it for me on Tuesdays, I’m really not a fan of the Unit… it just never panned out for me, which is sad because I love David Mamet.

The only returning show for Wednesdays is CSI:NY. Which is turing out to be better than expected. As far as new shows on that night I’m going to give several of them a shot… Back to You, Pushing Daises, and Dirty Sexy Money. The 2 new shows that I got a season pass for are Private Practice (for my wife of course, he he he) and Bionic Woman.

Thursdays are easily the toughest night because of the great Grey’s, CSI, Office dilemma. What were they thinking putting them all up against one another. Anyway, if you havent heard the first 4 episodes of the office are an hour long… holy crap, thats going to be awesome. Anyway, I will have to watch one of those three shows live, which is so devastating (oh how you’ve spoiled me TiVo). Other shows that night are 30 Rock (I love Alec Baldwin, the show would suck without him), My Name is Earl, and Without a Trace. There is one other on Thursdays thats a cable show, if you haven’t seen It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia you should (its on FX). If your easily offended then don’t, but if you can handle a little raunch… then check it out, its one of the funniest shows on tv.

That’s it for me, Fridays are pretty lame, but its ok because I think I’ve got enough from all the other days to keep me busy through the weekend.

iRing may be taking it to far

September 11, 2007

iRing
Check this out… a concept design of an iRing, which would give you wireless functionality of your iPod/iPhone. I wonder if Becky would like that for her anniversary present… yeah right. Anyway, its kinda crazy but worth the looky.
